Work Location: Corporate Headquarters – Pewaukee
Division: General Operations (Full Time, Exempt)
Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, the Safety Director is responsible for the company safety program and safety initiatives.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Years of Relevant Work Experience: 5 to 7 years’ experience managing safety initiatives in a construction environment
- Certificates/Licenses: Driver’s License, OSHA 500 certification, Degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
- Physical Job Requirements: Move throughout office, construction site, general outdoor environments, and use/climb a ladder
Key Activities
- Safety Procedures. Plan, direct, and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA rules and regulations. Lead and direct the Company’s Safety Committee.
- Training. Keep current with new equipment, installation practices and safety regulations and adapt policies to keep Company compliant with best safety practices. Conduct annual training for field employees and provide orientation for new hires. Participate in other training as needed for jobs and shop locations.
- Safety Reviews. Inspect facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards and determine corrective or preventative measures.
- Safety Investigations. Lead the investigation, determine root cause, and continuously adapt policies to reduce accidents and injuries.
- Safety Record Keeping. Maintains safety records and files such as OSHA logs, training records, and monthly safety scorecard.
