Work Location: Corporate Headquarters – Pewaukee

Division: Mechanical (Full Time, Exempt)

Under the direction of the Special Projects Supervisor, the Sales Engineer is responsible for the engineering and design of complex HVAC, industrial processes, and/or piping systems, for providing engineering support to field questions and installation problems, and for acquiring new accounts and/or projects in accordance with the Company sales and profit objectives.

Qualifications 

  • Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
  • Years of Relevant Work Experience: 5+ years of engineering design experience
  • Certificates/Licenses: Driver’s License, HVAC Designer or PE certification preferred
  • Physical Job Requirements: Move throughout office, construction site, and general outdoor environments

Key Activities

  1. Design and Engineering Support: Design mechanical systems, review project documentation, meet with customers, and visit job sites.
  2. Sales: Sell design build mechanical systems and develop and maintain relationships with customers.
  3. Customer Relations: Maintain the Company’s relationships with current customers and educate about Company’s competencies.
  4. New Business: Identify, develop, and generate new business activity and estimate projects in accordance with customer plans.
  5. “Turn Overs” and Project Preparation: Prepare initial project documentation for “turning over” project to Project Manager.
  6. Support: Support company salespeople, project managers, estimators, and field foremen on technical concerns.
  7. Development of Engineering/Design Staff: Assist in the selection, orientation, and training of new engineering and design professionals.
  8. Best Practices: Utilize technical expertise to continually challenge and improve designs and construction practices.
